Pre-Production Inspection (PPI)


At the beginning of production, Focal Point POP's inspectors will check the quality of principal components, materials, and accessories according to clients’ specifications, drawings, and reference samples. The PPI thus permits timely corrections and improvements before the mass production is initiated so that any non-conformity can be reported the first time to avoid shipment delays.


PPI’s main tasks:


  1. Evaluate the production capability and equipment in the factory;

  2. Check the factory’s quality control ability and executive status;

  3. Check the accuracy of production facilities and equipment;

  4. Audit production techniques and make sure the reasonable layout of the factory QC person;

  5. Check the quantity and quality of raw materials and main components used in the products, foreseeing any possible problems and avoiding them, verifying that the product specifications are being met early. 

During Production Inspection (DPI)


According to the client’s requirements, during production time, Focal Point POP thoroughly check the quality of semi-finished and finished products and supervise the manufacturing schedule manufacturing technique and identify any deviation and offer improving measures for the production in the following phase, forecast production effectiveness and estimated production finishing time.

DPI’s main tasks:


  1. Evaluate the production status during the manufacturing process;

  2. Randomly inspect the finished samples on-site and compare them with clients’ product specifications;

  3. According to the evaluated status of finished and semi-finished samples, offer advice for rearranging the QC layout in the factory;

  4. Inspect the packing details and packing material;

  5. Check the accuracy of production equipment and check the disposal methods for defective goods.

Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI)


The pre-shipment inspection occurs when the merchandise is 100% completed, and at least 80% of the products are packe, and marked. Focal Point POP's inspectors randomly draw some samples from finished goods, based on the statistical random sampling technique, commonly known as ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 MIL-STD-105E, to verify that the finished shipping lots conform to the client’s specification, order, L/C, reference samples, etc.

PSI’s main tasks:

  1. Quantity check;

  2. Appearance check: size, color, shape, to check if there is dirt, scratches, blurr, etc.;

  3. Style, color & material check;

  4. Function/safety check;

  5. Package details check shipping marks, label, hangtag, manner of packing, packing qty, the safety of packing, etc.;

  6. Related on-site test: it depends on the product to decide which on-site tests will be applied, such as size checking, function checking, drop test, etc.
